The St. Thomas law firm of BoltNagi PC is pleased to announce that Attorney Lisa Michelle Kömives has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in the Litigation Practice Group. Her practice concentration is complex commercial litigation including insurance coverage. Prior to joining BoltNagi PC, Lisa was an Associate with Akerman Senterfitt in Miami, Florida where she specialized in insurance coverage class actions and breach of contract litigation.

 

Lisa was raised in St. Thomas and is the daughter of long time residents, Jan and Kurt Kömives. Lisa attended Montessori School and graduated from Antilles School in 1994. She received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 1998 from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, and in 2005 Lisa earned her Juris Doctorate, also cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law.

While at the University of Miami, Lisa was an Articles and Comments Editor on the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review and is the author of Enfranchising a Discrete and Insular Minority: Extending Federal Voting Rights to American Citizens Living in United States Territories, published in the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review-Fall 2004. Lisa recently presented a program at the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Civil Rights Speaker Series, on the status of federal voting rights of American citizens residing in the U.S. Territories.

Lisa is a member of the Virgin Islands and Florida Bars, she also holds court admissions in the District Court of the Virgin Islands, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
